BASKETBALL IRELAND: EAST LEINSTER LEAGUE
U16
DRIMNAGH CASTLE 33
BLACKROCK COLLEGE 28
Our U16 Squad fought bravely throughout against the undefeated group leaders from Drimnagh Castle. It was our best performance of the season to date, but unfortunately came up just short against a very strong side.
Drimnagh had a physically dominant forward under the boards who was the main offensive weapon for Drimnagh. Mark Crowley (3rd Year) and Captain Rory Linnane (4th Year) put in a huge effort defensively to reduce his impact and did very well considering the size and physical presence of the forward.
Gavin Kildea (3rd Year) played his best game of the season scoring 6 excellent points.

BLACKROCK COLLEGE 41
Congratulations to our U19 SQUAD on a well deserved victory, our first of the season.
The Squad was made up of 5th and 4th Years. Captain Andrew Keenan
(5th Year) led from the front and scored an incredible 22 points. Tom Dowdall (4th Year) also made a major contribution scoring 10 points.
However, this was a real Squad effort and the progression that the entire Squad has shown is very pleasing and considering how young the Squad is this bodes very well for the future.
I thank our Coaches Mr O’Neill and Shane Kelly (Class of 2013).
