EAST-LEINSTER LEAGUE FINAL

A great Final – it was a privilege to be there. The result was in the mix right up until the end and it could have gone either way. Unfortunately, Captain Calum Henry (6^th Year) and his Squad came out on the wrong side of the result.

We congratulate Adamstown, a fine team which brought out the best in ‘Rock as we put in our best performance of the season. The game was a real back and forth battle. ‘Rock opened up a six point lead early on, however at one stage Adamstown had built up a 29-21 lead. ‘Rock showing great character, came back to lead 36-29 and from here on it was extremely close with Adamstown just edging it at the end. The Adamstown pointguard was a phenomenal player and finished with a total of 33 points.

We are very proud of our Squad. Andrew Keenan and Rob Somers combined hit 24 points and were a real force under the boards. Tom Dowdall put in a season’s best performance and hit 10 points driving at the boards. Rory Linnane on the wing scored 8 crucial points as well.

The season is far from over as we have qualified for the All-Ireland Playoffs.
