OVER THE BANK HOLIDAY WEEKEND …
- Our Senior Soccer Team opened their Dublin Metropolitan League Campaign on the Friday with a 2 – 1 victory over Oatlands. Goals from Alan Murphy and Sean O’Dowd secured victory.
Thank you Coaches Mr Evan O’Brien, O’Reilly, Aaron Pisarnik (both Class of 2013) and Fred Kenny (Class of 2014) for their preparation of the Squads
- The S.C.T. reached the Final of the Clongowes Bicentenary Rugby Festival held on Friday/Saturday. It was a superbly-run tournament, a fitting celebration of CWC’s contribution to Leinster Rugby and Irish Rugby. We congratulate St Michael’s on their victory. The Final was a hard-fought, tight affair, played in great spirit. St Michael’s had the slight edge. The score line (0 – 3) confirmed this.
Thank you Coaches Mr Peter Smyth, Mr Pickering, Mr Savage, Mr Toomey and Karl Curran (Class of 2009).
- The J.C.T. played Warwick School on the front lawn on Saturday morning. In an excellent game, the scoreline (35 – 12) may have flattered us but provides much encouragement for the rest of the season. This is our second encounter with Warwick at Junior level and their first visit to Blackrock. They are a welcome addition to our fixture roster.
I thank our parent body, who hosted the Warwick boys and Mr Vanstone, Mr Lambe and Mr Evan O’Brien for their planning for and organisation of the game.
