Badminton – League Update

U19 team

Our U19 team are playing in Division 2 this year after winning the Division three title last year. In their only game so far they lost 5-1 to The High School, with Alex Houlihan (6th Year) winning his match. The overall score line doesn’t reflect the balance of the games as a number of them were very close affairs.

Team: Captain Conor Fitzpatrick, Alex Houlihan and Calum Ryan (all 6th Year) and Luke O’Brien (4th Year).

U16 A team

The U16 A team are also playing in Division 2 and have had an encouraging start to the competition. A 6-0 victory against Oatlands was followed up by a 4-2 victory over Belvedere College. The results are most impressive considering some of the players we have played are on Leinster Development squads and play in clubs.

Team: Captain Darragh Dempsey, Darragh Harrison, Liam Prior and Stephen O Nuallain (all 3rd Year).

U16 B team

The U16 B team, playing in Division 3, beat Gonzaga 6-0 in their opening game.

Team: Captain Robert Byrne, John Dennison, Colm Kelly and Sean Probert (all 3rd Year).

U16 C team

The U16 C team, playing in Division 3, beat St Andrews (6-0) and St Benildus (5-1) in their opening 2 games.

Team: Tom King, Andrew Ryan and Joey Haughton (all 3rd Year) and Sean Harty (2nd Year).

U14 team

The U14 team continues to train away and they will play in Division 3 after Christmas.
