6th Year Family Mass 28th September
Fr. Larry Behan, PP (Bray) was Chief Celebrant at last Sunday’s Family Mass. He reminded the large congregation that the greatest ability is AVAILABILITY, a readiness to give meaningful service to others, for this is the essence of Christian discipleship.
During the Mass, Joshua Kiernan-Glennon, Joshua Climax and Richard Grainger were commissioned as special Ministers of the Eucharist. We congratulate and thank the boys for making themselves available to our school community.
After the Mass, the 6th Years departed for their three-day Retreats, which are held in 15 different centres around the country. The 6th Year Retreat provides a vital “Time Out”, to “Think, Discuss, Belong, to Be Yourself, and to Pray”. We wish the boys well.
Mr Shane Murphy (Class of 1981), his wife Hilary and 3 sons represented the College Union at the Mass. It was a wonderful occasion. I thank them, Chief Celebrant Fr Behan and the Concelebrating Community, Ms O’Kane, Mr MacDonald, Mr Grumley Traynor, Ms McMahon, Mr Kehoe, Mr Brennan, Mr Rogan, Mr Tom Ryan, Mr Goan, Mr Myles Ryan and Mr Herlihy for their organisation of and support for, the 6th Year Family Mass.
I particularly wish to thank Mr Tom Ryan for his organisation of the Retreats, my colleagues who accompany them and also my colleagues who provide cover while they are away. It is a Whole School effort.
