5th Year Family Mass – Sunday, 11th March

5th Year Family Mass
Sunday, 11th March 2018
Chief Celebrant Fr Brendan Carr C.S.Sp informed the sizeable congregation in an excellent homily that “you are God’s work of Art”. Life is about giving your best even in times of fear and uncertainty. It is about keeping going, never giving up.
We welcomed our visitors from St Bede’s, Manchester who had played us in soccer the previous day. In a special way Fr Carr welcomed the Mothers on this Mothers’ Day celebration and reminded the boys that there will not be anything in their lives as special as that Mother/Son bond. Realise it and appreciate it.
President of the Union, Eunan O’Carroll (Class of 1984) and his wife Judy, as always welcome guests, represented that bond between Blackrock past and present.
I thank Fr Carr, Fr Nash, Fr O’Brolchain, Deacon Liam, Mr Hurl, Mr Grumley Traynor, Mr Cavanagh, Mr Orroch, Ms McGlynn, Ms McMahon, Ms Dobbyn, Ms Markey, Mr O’Shea, our Ministers of the Eucharist David McCarthy, Rory Gallagher, Kelvin Hickey, Karl Butler (all 6th Year) and of course the families and boys of 5th Year in attendance for a wonderful liturgy.
