5th & 6th Year Retreats

For three days at the end of September, our Sixth Year students travelled to fifteen different venues around Ireland, North & South, for their Retreat. The theme was Future, Fun, Friendship & Faith. Each venue offered a slightly different experience and ultimately a different challenge for the future. The feedback from one student gives a flavour of the retreats: “We all loved the discussions because they were relevant to us and allowed us to express ourselves without pressure”.
On October 10th, our Fifth Year students spent the day at one of four venues around Dublin for their Day of Reflection. This offered the students a worthwhile chance to take time out and reflect, adjusting from the opportunities of Transition Year and engaging with the challenges of the exam curriculum.
I thank the members of Staff who gave up their time to accompany our students of these journeys of faith: Mr Goan, Mr Grant, Mr Hurl, Mr Kearney, Ms Keenan, Mr Lambe, Mr Madden, Ms McGlynn, Ms McGuire, Ms McMahon, Mr McNamara, Mr Neville, Mr O’Farrell, Mr O’Reilly, Mr Pickering, Mr Rowsome, Mr Smyth & Mr Toolan.
And so enlivened by the experience, it’s on to the Leaving Cert…
I thank Mr Hurl for his co-ordination of these very positive experiences.
