4TH YEAR FAMILY MASS
Fr Marc Whelan CSSp, Provincial, in a thought-provoking homily urged the boys “ to make the most of the Transition Year experience, to change their perspective on life, on the world – to think anew, to change their way of thinking”.
Transitioning is about the discovery of how important it is to contribute, to make a difference, to seek a better world, to grow in wisdom, maturity and in faithfulness, in themselves, in each other and in God.
In this vein, Jordan McDonald and Conor Cowhey shared with us their reflections on the recent visit to Kolkata as part of a group of Transition Year students, accompanied by Ms Payne and Alan Vard of GOAL.
The Year Masses are an important statement of what we value, of our ethos.
I congratulate the boys in attendance and their families for making it so meaningful.
I am grateful to the President of the Union Mr Greg Moore (Class of 1982) his wife Aisling and son Jonathan (6th Year) for their attendance and encouragement.
I thank Ms O’Kane, Ms O’Connor, Mr Myles Ryan, Ms Nulty, Mr Brennan, Mr Rogan, Ms Clare, the concelebrating community and Ministers of the Eucharist, Servers, Choir, Musicians and Readers for their organisation of such a marvellous liturgy.
