2ND YEAR INTER-HOUSE RUGBY
Two excellent Inter-House Rugby Competitions, one 10s and the other 7s were held last Saturday morning, (19 September 2015).
The ‘A’ Division was won by Duff House, beating De Valera in the Final (3 – 1).
Leman and Shanahan had been beaten in the Semi-finals with Ebenrecht beating McQuaid in the 5th/6th play-off. Joseph Tierney (De Valera) was Player Of The Tournament.
Duff also won the 7s Competition, beating Leman in the Final.
Shanahan and McQuaid were beaten Semi-finalists with Ebenrecht beating De Valera in the 5th/6th play-off.
Gerard Downey of Leman was Player Of The Tournament.
There was an excellent turnout of players and parents. Our transition year house captains coached and encouraged their respective House groups and I thank them all – James Burke and Liam Turner (De Valera); Hugh O’Leary, Ross Phelan and Matthew Curran (Duff); Art Lynch, Curtis Winkelmann, James Lunt (Ebenrecht); Niall Brady and Conor Lacey (Leman); Harry Donnelly and David McCarthy (McQuaid); Neil Holohan and Liam McMahon (Shanahan) – for their time, effort, enthusiasm and interest.
I thank our Coaches and Referees – Mr Grumley Traynor,
Mr Murray, Dillon Coghlan (Class of 2013) and Conor Kilcoyne (Class of 2015) for the 10s and Mr Brennan, Mr Murphy, Jake Ward (Class of 2015), Peter Quirke (Class of 2013) and Conor Drury (Class of 2012) for making it possible and I thank Mr Hurl for presenting the Medals.
Finally, I thank our Games Administrator Mr Evan O’Brien for his organisation of the Competition.
