2nd Year Family Mass – Sunday 22nd October 2017

2nd Year Family Mass
Mission Sunday: 22nd October 2017
There was a tremendous turnout of parents, grandparents, siblings and 2nd Year boys for our Family Mass. This was the largest gathering, outside the Graduation Mass, in years and most encouraging.
Chief Celebrant Fr. Marc Whelan defined mission as a journey and stressed the importance of going the distance. This journey most importantly is one of self-discovery, discovering who we are, establishing our own identity.
The musicians, choir, readers, servers and processionists all contributed to a marvellous liturgy. As part of the Liturgy, 6th Year boys Liam McMahon, Karl Butler, Kelvin Hickey, David McCarthy and Leo Downey were commissioned as ‘Ministers of the Eucharist’.
I thank President of the Union, Mr Eunan O’Carroll (class of 1984), and his wife Judy, our concelebrating community, Mr Hurl, Mr Cavanagh, Mr Grumley-Traynor, Ms McGlynn, Ms McMahon, Mr Tom Ryan, Mr Prendergast, Mr Donal Brennan, Mr Owen Brennan, Ms McGuire, Mr O’Reilly, Ms Harlowe, Ms Nolan, Mr Herlihy and Ms Marren, the 2nd Years and their families in attendance, for this wonderful celebration of our Blackrock Spirit.
