100 Years of the Irish in Kenya Exhibition

100 Years of the Irish in Kenya
Thursday 25th January to Friday 2nd February
The Exhibition on Loan from the Embassy of Ireland in Kenya, will be on display in St Patrick’s Hallway from 25th January to 2nd February.
The Irish in Kenya, numbering 1,500 approximately, represent all traditions of the Island of Ireland and, of course, there are now many 2nd generation Irish who are an integral part of the development of a newly emerging Kenya.
The Spiritans have had a strong missionary presence there for over 100 years now. Most recently the Machakos project has strengthened the Blackrock ties. Through interviews, family documents and religious archives, the exhibition attempts to capture the stories of the Irish in Kenya over the last 100 years.
