Physio Seamus Toomey BSc MISCP
Chartered Physiotherapist Seamus Toomey is now practising on campus. The clinic is located in the Sports Hall and is available to provide a physiotherapy service to all Blackrock College students, alumni, staff and their respective families.
Seamus Toomey BSc MISCP holds an honours degree in physiotherapy from Trinity College, Dublin and is also a qualified sports massage therapist and fitness instructor.
Seamus has worked in private practice at Sundrive Physiotherapy & Sports Injury Clinic and at the Sheehan Medical Practice in Dun Laoghaire and in team sports with Dublin University R.F.C.
Physiotherapy treatments may include different combinations of hands on manual therapy, exercise therapy, electrotherapy, cryotherapy, sports taping, ergonomic advice and education regarding individual symptoms.
Seamus specialises in the area of functional movement screening for all sports where a player undergoes a functional movement assessment, which identifies functional weaknesses, which when corrected with an individualised corrective exercise programme reduces the risk of injury and improves potential performance.
